DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1 – 25 March 2027

Arrival in Antananarivo

Meet and greet at Ivato International Airport by your English-speaking guide. After a warm welcome, transfer to your hotel in the city (approximately 15 km). Depending on your arrival time, relax after your international flight or enjoy your first impressions of Madagascar’s capital. Your guide will provide a tour briefing and useful information about the journey ahead.

Antananarivo → Andasibe (140 km)

After breakfast, depart for Andasibe through Madagascar’s lush eastern highlands. Along the way, stop at the famous Peyrieras Private Reserve, renowned for its remarkable collection of endemic reptiles, amphibians and insects. This is one of the best places in Madagascar to photograph colourful chameleons, leaf-tailed geckos, frogs and butterflies.

Discover Andasibe National Park

There, discover these remarkable primates and hear their powerful calls echoing through the forest canopy. In the afternoon, continue to Vakona Private Reserve for a closer encounter with Madagascar’s fascinating wildlife. Explore Ranomafana National Park

After breakfast, set off on a guided morning trek through the lush rainforest of Ranomafana National Park, one of Madagascar’s most remarkable biodiversity hotspots and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Accompanied by an experienced local naturalist guide, explore the dense tropical forest in search of its extraordinary wildlife

The park is home to several species of lemurs, including the rare Greater Bamboo Lemur, as well as colourful chameleons, endemic birds, fascinating insects and a rich variety of orchids, ferns and medicinal plants. As you walk beneath the rainforest canopy, your guide will share insights into the park’s unique ecosystem and the conservation efforts protecting its exceptional biodiversity.

In the afternoon, return to the town of Ranomafana and unwind in its famous natural thermal pools, whose warm mineral-rich waters have been appreciated for their relaxing properties for generations.

Ranomafana → Ranohira (295 km)

From Rainforests to Southern Landscapes

After breakfast, continue your journey south through Madagascar’s changing landscapes, from rainforest to semi-arid scenery. Along the way, admire beautiful views of mountains, valleys, and traditional villages. First, visit the famous Anja Community Reserve, a successful local conservation project.

There, walk with a local guide and observe Ring-tailed Lemurs in their natural habitat. Additionally, discover endemic birds, chameleons, and impressive granite rock formations. Then, cross the vast Horombe Plateau and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of southern Madagascar. Finally, stop at the iconic Bishop’s Hat Rock Formation before reaching Ranohira, the gateway to Isalo National Park.

DAY 8 – 1 April 2027

Explore Isalo National Park

After an early breakfast, embark on a full-day adventure in Isalo National Park, Madagascar’s most iconic sandstone landscape. Accompanied by your local park guide, hike through spectacular canyons, towering rock formations and lush oases hidden within the massif. Depending on your pace and fitness level, the hike covers approximately 10–15 km along wellmarked trails.

Along the way, discover the park’s remarkable biodiversity, including endemic plants such as Pachypodium, Aloespecies and the distinctive elephant’s foot plant, as well as several species of lemurs, colourful birds and reptiles. One of the highlights of the day is a refreshing swim in the famous Natural Pool, a crystal-clear oasis surrounded by lush vegetation and dramatic sandstone cliffs. In the late afternoon, continue to some of Isalo’s most celebrated viewpoints, including the Window of Isalo, where the setting sun creates a breathtaking natural spectacle. You will also admire the impressive Queen of Isalo rock formation and the unique Sandwich Rock, both sculpted over millions of years by wind and erosion. Return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.

Ranohira → Tuléar → Mangily (270 km)

After breakfast, leave the dramatic landscapes of Isalo behind and journey southwest toward the coastal village of Mangily, passing through the vibrant city of Tuléar. Along the way, enjoy the changing scenery as the highlands gradually give way to Madagascar’s unique dry forests and coastal landscapes.

Arrive in Mangily in the early afternoon and visit the renowned Reniala Private Reserve, one of the best places to discover the extraordinary Spiny Forest, an ecosystem found only in southern Madagascar. During your guided walk, admire the reserve’s impressive giant baobabs, some of which are several centuries old, and discover a fascinating variety of endemic plants adapted to this arid environment. The reserve is also an excellent location for observing endemic birds, reptiles and other wildlife unique to the region.

After the visit, continue to your beachfront hotel and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Mozambique Channel.

Upon arrival at Fascene Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your local representative before being transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the afternoon is free to relax and enjoy the island at your own pace. Take a stroll along the beach, unwind by the swimming pool, or simply soak up the peaceful atmosphere of one of Madagascar’s most beautiful seaside destinations.

Full-Day Excursion to Nosy Iranja

Early in the morning, depart by speedboat for the breathtaking island of Nosy Iranja, located approximately 45 kms outhwest of Nosy Be. Often regarded as one of Madagascar’s most beautiful islands, Nosy Iranja is famous for its spectacular white sandbank that connects two islands at low tide, surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise waters.

Spend the day exploring this tropical paradise, where you can swim in the warm lagoon, relax on the pristine beaches or snorkel among colourful marine life. Climb to the historic lighthouse for panoramic views of the Mozambique Channel and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this unspoiled island.

A delicious seafood lunch is served on the beach, allowing you to savour fresh local specialties in an idyllic setting before enjoying more free time to swim or unwind.

In the late afternoon, return by speedboat to Nosy Be.

After breakfast, embark on a full-day boat excursion to two of the most beautiful islands in the Nosy Be archipelago. Your first stop is Nosy Tanikely Marine Reserve, a protected marine park renowned for its exceptional underwater biodiversity. Equipped with mask and snorkel, explore the crystal-clear waters and discover vibrant coral reefs, colourful tropical fish, sea turtles (depending on the season and conditions), and a rich variety of marine life.

Continue to Nosy Komba, also known as the « Island of Lemurs. » During your visit, meet the island’s friendly Black Lemurs, which can often be observed in their natural habitat. Stroll through the charming local handicraft village, where talented artisans create handmade wood carvings, embroidered textiles and traditional Malagasy souvenirs. Continue to a traditional Ylang-Ylang Distillery, where you will learn about the extraction process of the island’s renowned essential oils, which have earned Nosy Be its nickname, the « Perfume Island. » Next, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Hell-Ville Market, where colourful stalls offer fresh tropical fruits, spices, handicrafts and local products, providing an authentic glimpse into everyday Malagasy life.

In the afternoon, visit the impressive Sacred Banyan Tree, a revered natural landmark deeply rooted in local traditions and beliefs. End the day at Mount Passot, the highest point on the island, where you will enjoy one of Madagascar’s most spectacular sunsets.
