Where is the best destination for a first trip?

For a first trip, some destinations have that little something you simply won’t find anywhere else. There are Japan for its culture, Iceland for its landscapes. There are also Mongolia for its vast open spaces, Morocco for its colours, and Peru for its history.
And then, there is Madagascar. A destination made unique by nature shaped over millions of years of evolution. Where some animal and plant species exist nowhere else in the world. It is an island where you can find yourself surrounded by giant trees with unmistakable silhouettes. Discover rock formations sculpted by time, encounter animals found only here, and enjoy pristine beaches.

Madagascar is not simply another destination:
it feels like a world of its own.

What Makes Madagascar Different from Other Destinations?

The Baobabs

Madagascar is home to 6 of the 8 baobab species found worldwide. And all six are endemic to the island, meaning they naturally occur nowhere else on Earth. Malagasy baobabs generally range from around 5 to 30 metres in height. With the famous Grandidier’s baobab reaching about 25–30 metres.

At the Avenue of the Baobabs, you can admire these majestic trees and enjoy a spectacular sunset. When the warm light highlights their distinctive silhouettes and creates an unforgettable scene.

The Lemurs

Madagascar is the only place in the world where lemurs live naturally. There are now more than 100 species, with remarkable differences in size: from the tiny mouse lemur. Which can weigh around 40 grams, to the Indri, the largest living lemur, which can reach 9 to 10 kg.

The Chameleons

Madagascar is home to an incredible diversity of chameleons, including some of the smallest species ever discovered. They are particularly fascinating because their eyes can move independently. This allows them to look in two directions at the same time. They are also known for their ability to change color, mainly to communicate, regulate their body temperature. Or respond to their surroundings.

Antananarivo and Royal history

In Antananarivo, you can discover the Rova of Manjakamiadana, royal tombs, traditional Highland houses, historic hills. The heritage of ancient kings and queens, as well as local markets and Malagasy handicrafts.
