Day 1: Welcome at Ivato Airport
The Great Island is a country filled with dream destinations you’ll discover during your stay. Your journey in Madagascar begins on the day of your arrival. The guide and driver will handle your transfer to the hotel, located near Ivato International Airport. Welcome to Antananarivo, the administrative capital of Madagascar, where rice paddies can be seen in the heart of the city, a unique curiosity in the world. Our guide will share many other fascinating facts about our country.
Overnight at Les Synges Hotel.
Day 2: Antananarivo - Andasibe
adagascar is both a green and red island, depending on the color of the soil in each region. Departure towards the east coast, where the forest is green and evergreen, to reach Andasibe. The trip is not long, but the winding road allows you to admire the beautiful landscapes of the east coast. After about 75 km, you will stop to visit the small Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic reserve, which hosts various species of chameleons, uroplatus, snakes, geckos, and amphibians. After the visit, you can have lunch at Marozevo, a nearby village, where you will taste a typical Malagasy dish. In the afternoon, continue your journey passing through the town of Moramanga, known for the graves of the 1947 uprising protesters. You will arrive in Andasibe by late afternoon.

Day 3: Andasibe
Andasibe is a village located at the edge of the Mantadia and Analamazaotra national parks. After breakfast, you will visit the famous Analamazaotra Park, home to Madagascar’s largest lemur, the Indri Indri. This lemur fascinates visitors with its human-like behaviors and its diet of endemic leaves. Unlike other lemur species, it has a short 5 cm tail, the group is led by a female, and the species is polygamous. In the afternoon, you will explore the Vakona Reserve, where the lemurs are tame and do not hesitate to climb onto your shoulders for bananas.

Day 4: Andasibe - Toamasina - Soanierana Ivongo
After breakfast, you’ll resume your journey eastward. The landscapes become increasingly lush, thanks to the southeast winds bringing rain. Along the road, you’ll observe traditional houses made of ravinala and small markets selling seasonal fruits, giving the east coast a unique charm. Upon arrival, you’ll settle into the hotel to refresh yourself. Departure for Soanierana Ivongo around 10 p.m., as the boat is scheduled for 8 a.m. the next morning.
Day 5: Soanierana Ivongo - Sainte Marie - Île aux Nattes
Arrive early in the morning at Soanierana Ivongo. While waiting to embark for Sainte-Marie Island, you can have a meal. Boarding starts at 7 a.m., and the boat departs at exactly 8 a.m. After a 1 hour 45-minute to 2-hour crossing, you will arrive at Barachois port in Ambodifotatra, Sainte-Marie. Lunch at a seafood-specialized restaurant in the city center. In the afternoon, head to Île aux Nattes, located at the southern tip of Sainte-Marie.

Day 6: Whale Safari and Tour of Île aux Nattes
Arrive early in the morning at Soanierana Ivongo. While waiting to embark for Sainte-Marie Island, you can have a meal. Boarding starts at 7 a.m., and the boat departs at exactly 8 a.m. After a 1 hour 45-minute to 2-hour crossing, you will arrive at Barachois port in Ambodifotatra, Sainte-Marie. Lunch at a seafood-specialized restaurant in the city center. In the afternoon, head to Île aux Nattes, located at the southern tip of Sainte-Marie.

Day 7: île aux Sables and Île aux Nattes
Sainte-Marie is surrounded by seven islets, including three sandbanks to the east. Protected by coral reefs, these sandbanks are a refuge for seagulls and sometimes sea turtles that come to lay their eggs. This place is ideal for snorkeling or simply relaxing on the sandbank under the sun. In the afternoon, return to Île aux Nattes to relax on the beach in front of the hotel.

Day 8: Snorkeling and Deep-Sea or Handline Fishing at Île aux Nattes
After breakfast, several activities are available. You can go snorkeling to observe the rich marine life, including reef fish and endemic corals, or go deep-sea or handline fishing. If the fish aren’t biting, why not dive to observe their behavior underwater?
The afternoon is free.

Day 9: Pirate cemetery and Îlot Forban
Sainte-Marie Island is a significant historical site from the pre-colonial era. You will take a tuk-tuk to the north of the island, where the famous Pirate Cemetery and Îlot Forban at Bellevue are located. The guide will share the fascinating history of these places. Return to Île aux Nattes by late afternoon.

Day 10: Departure from Île aux Nattes to the Natural Pool and Waterfall
At the northern tip of Sainte-Marie Island is a natural pool, a sacred place for the local inhabitants. On the way, you’ll stop to admire a waterfall located a few kilometers north of Ambodifotatra. There, you’ll follow the guide’s instructions to respect the taboos and prohibitions related to this sacred site. Return to the south by late afternoon.

Day 11: Free Day on Île aux Nattes
This free day allows you to enjoy personal activities. After breakfast, you can shop for artisanal souvenirs of explore the island’s restaurants.

Your stay on the island is coming to an end. After breakfast, you will head to Sainte-Marie Airport for a flight to the capital. Upon arrival, you’ll settle into a hotel near the airport.

Day 12: Sainte-Marie - Antananarivo
On this last day in Madagascar, we offer a city tour of Antananarivo to discover its historical monuments from the monarchy and colonial periods. Lunch in the city center. Transfer to Ivato Airport for your return flight.
