Whale watching in Sainte-Marie Madagascar
What you will see during you discover the Sainte-Marie Madagascar island and do the whale watching?
The waters around Madagascar are rich in cetacean species, some of which are endemic to the region.
Humpback whales in particular are known to gather in the warm waters of Madagascar to mate and give birth. They are easily recognizable by their hump-shaped dorsal fin, wide and flat tail and complex song.
Cetaceans are threatened by marine pollution, noise and ship collisions. Illegal and unregulated fishing and destructive fishing practices such as drift nets also pose a threat to cetaceans.
